Apache Junction is located at the base of the famous Superstition Mountains, approximately 35 miles east of Phoenix, named for its spot at the junction of the Apache Trail and US Highway 60. Known for its resort style retirement parks for Canadian snowbirds, Apache Junction has a year-round population of about 42,000 residents, which swells to 77,000 during the winter.
